Review/recenzija: Emma Chase: Royally Screwed and Royally Matched

Seriously, is there anybody who doesn't like Emma Chase?
Anybody at all?
I don't think so.
First, there was her Tangled series, then The Legal Briefs, and now here we are with Royally.

For now, there are two novels in this series, Royally Screwed and Royally Matched, but we're expecting Royally Endowed later in 2017.

The protagonists of both of the first two novels are two brothers, princes of Wessco.

In Royally Screwed, Nicholas, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, visits New York. There, in a small diner, he meets a beautiful waitress Olivia. Olivia has no clue who Nick is, nor does she care. He treats her with disrespects, so she acts like any other normal woman would- she throws one of her pies at his face. Serves him right.
For Nick, knowing a person who treats him as a human being instead of some divine creature, means he can finally be himself and not just a politically exposed figure. He falls for Olivia, and he falls deep.
But the time comes for him to go back home, and Olivia can't follow. Nick can't marry a woman with no royal blood.
Basically, Nick's screwed...
So what will he choose? His woman or his crown?

Henry's life turns upside down after his brother makes the most outrageous decision. Henry like parties, girls and adventures. He likes his freedom. But all of that is gone now. Everything has changed. He needs to take serious responsibility and represent his country, two things he hates the most.
But to save a bit of his old life, Henry decides to take part in a new reality show, Matched: Royal Edition, where he agrees to choose his bride between a few ladies with royal blood.
Nevertheless, things are rarely as easy as they seem.
Henry falls in love. But she isn't a part of the show...
Sarah Titebottum is a bookworm who hates public appearances. The two of them are nothing alike, but that's exactly what makes them want to be together.
So what will Henry do? There's a show that wants to match him and a kingdom that needs him. But also, there's Sarah...

There are times when I come across a book (or series) that absolutely amazes me. In those moments I get so nervous when the time comes for me to review it. I'm always scared of not saying enough, or saying too much, or not doing it justice. I think that's something all of us can understand. When we love something, we're afraid of express our emotions because sometimes words are just not enough.
That was the case with Royally. I have a friend with whom I've talked about this series, and we came to the conclusion that nobody writes male POV the way Emma does (until now, no man objected, so it has to ve true 😜). When one starts reading Emma's novels, one doesn't stop until they're done.

I few years ago, after reading about Drew Evans (Tangled), I fell in love with her male characters, but now, after meeting Nick or Henry...especially Henry! I'm in heaven! Could this get better? I'm scared to even think about it!
Emma's male protagonists seem like arrogant and  proud, but they are always faced with a woman or life situation that makes them reveal the other part of their personalities. That way, we get to see that her novels aren't just romance novels, but they also teach us about duty and responsibility. We get the perfect mix, seriousness laced with humor. And that's what wins us over every time.

And her female characters? Sarah, for example...a bit of Sarah lives in every bookworm out there. Like Sarah, we're the ones who would, probably, always choose a good book and a cup of tea, over a loud club, short skirts or other cheap thrills.

These two books made my whole month better, and now I can't wait for the third novel.

If you haven't yet met Emma's work or any of her characters, Royally is the chance you were waiting for.
Enjoy the books and don't forget to leave you comment.

Nicholasova priča započinje kad posjeti New York u kojem upozna Olive, a ona ga, jer je običan umišljeni mulac, pogodi pitom u glavu.
On mora napustiti New York, a Olive, jer nije kraljevske krvi, ne može poći s njime. Ukratko, Nick je sje*an.

A djevojke? Milina jedna! Čitala sam roman o Sarah i Henryju i srce me boljelo jer meni najbliža knjižnica nema nekog skrivenog kutka.

Zanima me hoće li i vas kraljevski osvojiti 😉
