Review: Penelope Ward: Love Online

"I will always have respect for women who do whatever it takes to fend for themselves and their families."
(Love online by Penelope Ward)

Were gonna be honest here and admit we've all had at least that one person we've met and flirted with online. It's simply impossible to live in a 21.century, use the Internet, be single and not have an online (if only just temporarely) "crush".
I will also admit this novel has cought my eye because I thought the protagonists meet on one of those online dating sites.
What a silly girl I was *facepalm*
There is no sign of Tinder here. Or OKCupid. Or any other alike.
Love Online
will show you what it means to meet a person online. And you will love it.

Ryder has the name, the Money and women. But it's not enough. He's not happy because he lacks the thing he wants the most - someone to love the real him, a guy beneath the luxury and success.
One lonely evening, Ryder does something he never did before. While watching porn (because he does that regulary haha 🎉) he stumbles upon a cam girl with a violine.
You mean a girl playing a violine on a porn site?
So, naturally, he had to see what that was all about.
Then he saw the most beautiful girl he ever met. Then he saw her smile. Then he saw her cry.
And then he fell in love with a cam girl.
Is there ever be any hope for this man?

All of you haters, please exit here. You have reached the end of your journey. All of those willing to enjoy the bumpy ride called "I'm okay with this girl being a cam girl", let's continue this adventure.

You know (don't try to deny it 😉), since we're mostly reading romance and erotic novels on this blog, there's no denying we often think about sex. Hell yes, we do. And why the hell not? Sex is fun! Make love, not war, it's what people smarter than me have said, so who am I to say no to that?
In most cases and some cultures, seks is still a big taboo. Reading this novel will be a big deal for some people, for the mere fact that the female protagonists is selling her body virtually, and the male protagonist is (mostly) okay with that. Actually that's how they meet.

So if youre anti-porn watching, you will not be okay with characters paying a girl to take her clothes off or masturbate for private customers.
Nevertheless, even though this may seem like a dirty read, there aren't any explicit sexual scenes between Montana and her clients (other than Ryder, of course - but that's what we're here for). Those would probably even I find gross.
As for why is Montana entertaining male audience the way she's doing it - you'll just have to read the novel to find out.

"There’s a difference between true arousal—enjoyment—versus activation. Sexual non-concordance is the term. It’s when your body responds to a sexual cue, even if you’re not truly liking it. It’s a physiological reaction not based on enjoyment
but rather on the idea of something sexual happening. It’s a very detached way of getting aroused.”
“So you’re saying that because you’re thinking about sex, from the mere act of, say, masturbating—even if you’re not into it—your body might still react. But there’s no actual desire.”
“Exactly. It’s just a primal, almost automatic reaction."

I hope you've spent Christmas with those you love the most. If not, then at least with some nice and warm novel - you know those always make us feel like it's holiday.
🎉Happy new year, lovelies. I hope 2019. brings many many sexy novels on your TBR pile. 🎉
