Review: J.T.Geissinger: Dangerous Beauty

"Life leads you right where you’re meant to go, if only you let it."
(Dangerous Beauty by J.T. Geissinger)

When you find that one author that just does it for you, in a way it's like finding your soulmate. It’s so peaceful, comforting and genuinely beautiful. You feel like you know them and you don’t even question it any more. You want more, it is just never enough.

Dangerous Beauty.

The first of three novels in Dangerous Beauty book series, the new series by J.T.Geissinger – one of the few authors I will ever fangirl over. And rightfully so.

Eva is finally free.

After years of being abused, beaten and starved, she has managed to escape. For the first time ever, she has a job, and place of her own. Her freedom.

But he is after her. She knows she has to be careful, but somehow still manages to find herself in trouble. And that’s how she meets Nasir.

He’s big, he’s dangerous and he’s beautiful. He knows she has secrets, but with him she feels safe. For the first time in her life, she feels like she can trust a person.

But how much will that cost her?

Like every other bookworm’s, it’s still my biggest wish to own a room full of books, bottom to top, every inch of it covered in precious pages of novels I adore. One day that wish finally comes true, J.T.Geissinger’s novels will be there, in the center, for the whole world to witness my obsession over that woman’s brains and imagination. Because they are just so f*cking good.

Not only did she create another smoking hot, amazingly dangerous guy to give me a reason to be smitten by a book character – again! – but, she brought Tabby and Connor back. Yes, she did. If you don’t know who Tabby and Connor are, you are one step away from discovering the couple of your romance-obsessed dreams. I’ll put the link to the review of Wicked Games on the bottom of the page.

Anyways, back to matter at hand. I was just trying to verbalize how amazing this novel is. Something about Geissinger just does it for me. Her novels are like chocolate – addictive and impossible to resist. As usual, the characters she creates are equally vulnerable and bold. Spirited, but tamable.

Eva and Nas are fighters, each one of them in their own way. Just like every couple Geissinger writes about, they meet at the time of the greatest danger and decide to defeat it together. Eva is in no way a damsel in distress. Every day she lived is the proof of her bravery and strength. Meeting Nas allows her to finally let go a little, to be able to trust somebody enough to share her burden with them. And that is exactly what Nasir needs – to be able to feel that he makes a difference, that he can help her. That notion is what saves him.

This novel is only the beginning of their journey, an introduction into their romance. Besides the inevitable (and our favorite) romantic scenes, Dangerous Beauty offers us a glimpse into the dark side, more of which we will probably be reading about in the book number two. The novel ends with a cliffhanger, making us all scream for the sequel that is to be published sometimes this year.

I love the way romance novels always go deeper than the surface. Behind the steamy scenes and sexy dialogues hidden are the emotions that make us all human: fear of losing or never finding the one that is right for us.
